composition
Each Dutas capsule contains 0.5mg of Dutasteride. Dutas is available
in blister packs of 10 capsules.
description
Dutas is the new potent dual ( type 1 and type 2 ) 5 alpha-reductase
inhibitor. Whereas Finpecia/Fincar inhibit production of type
2 5 alpha-reductase and consequently cut dht levels by 60%,
Dutas inhibits production of type 1 and type 2 5 alpha-reductase,
cutting overall dht levels by a massive 93% making it a much
more effective medication for the treatment of MPB ( Male
Pattern Baldness ).
indications
Dutas ( Dutasteride ) is the new, highly effective treatment
for male pattern baldness ( androgenetic alopecia ) for men
suffering from mild to moderate hair loss of the vertex and
anterior mid scalp regions. recent test results have also
shown Dutas to be effective in reversing frontal hair loss.
As Dutas is a type 1 and type 2 5 alpha-reductase inhibitor,
hair regrowth levels have been shown to be superior compared
to results obtained from Finpecia and Fincar. phase ii trials
for Dutasteride completed by Glaxosmithkline concerning fda
approval for the treatment of hair loss are encouraging. After
6 months of treatment, the hair counts measured in a 1 inch
diameter circle increased by an average of 96 hairs with 0.5mg
of Dutasteride taken daily compared to an average of 72 hairs
with a hefty 5mg of Finasteride daily. this shows Dutasteride
to be around 30% more effective than finasteride in promoting
hair regrowth.
dosage/administration.
Dutas comes in a 0.5mg capsule that is taken once per day.
do not crush or break the capsules. Dutas can be taken with
or without food and should be swallowed whole. a treatment
period of at least 6 months is recommended to ascertain if
treatment with Dutas will be of benefit. As with Finpecis
and Fincar, if you forget to take Dutas, do not double up
on the next dose to catch up. skip the missed dose and take
the next capsule as normal. Dutas should be taken for a minimum
of 6 months to realise visible benefits with hair regrowth
normally occuring from 3 months onwards. many users report
a significant regrowth of lost hair after 6 - 12 months.
side effects.
side effects arising from the use of Dutas include impotence,
a decrease in libido (sex drive), breast enlargement and tenderness
and a decrease in the amount of semen released during sex.
However, it must be stressed that these side effects tend
to disappear with continued usage or if consumption of the
medication is stopped altogether.
warnings and precautions
Dutas should never be taken by women. it is also possible
for Dutasteride to be absorbed through the skin, therefore
it is inadvisable for women to handle the capsules especially
if they are crushed or split. if a woman is pregnant or plans
to become pregnant, any contact with Dutasteride by a developing
male fetus may result in abnormalities of the genitalia. Dutas
should also not be taken by men who are actively planning
a family.
A blood test called PSA ( Prostrate-Specific Antigen ) for
the screening of prostrate cancer can be affected by taking
Dutas. If a psa test is undertaken, it is imperative that
your doctor is informed that you are taking Dutas.
